Super Anode Rod Installation

Disconnect the water heater and turn off the water supply.

Drain the water partially.

Locate the anode rod port on your water heater (refer to the water heater manual).

Use a ratchet wrench and 1 1/16-inch hex-head socket (or appropriate socket) to unscrew the anode head. In some water heaters, the anode head maybe below the surface. In this case, you may need to unscrew the tank cover and/or remove insulation foam before you can reach the anode head.

Take out and dispose the anode rod safely.

Slide the SuperAnode in through the anode port and use a wrench around the nipple to screw it tightly. Use Teflon tape on the threading to ensure that the port is water-sealed.

Turn the water supply back on and re-connect the water heater.
